How to use Online Templates Library

How to open the extension, and, because it is your data, a plain account of what it does and does not collect.

Get started

  1. Click the Templates button in the toolbar. If you do not see it, open the puzzle-piece menu and pin it.
  2. The side panel opens next to your page. Pick a category or search.

Data the extension uses

Sent to our catalog

  • The searches you run and the categories and templates you open, so we can return results and previews.
  • Your IP address and browser type, which accompany every internet request, recorded in server logs to run and secure the service (kept for only as long as needed to operate and secure the service).
  • None of this is tied to a name, email address or account: there are no accounts.

Stored on your device only

  • Your favorites (up to 100 templates).
  • Your last five searches.
  • Where you were in the panel, so it can reopen there, and your appearance and sponsored-content settings.

We cannot see this data. It is deleted when you remove the extension.

Read on your device, never sent

  • The address and title of your active tab, only to suggest a relevant category (for example, resumes on a job site). It is kept in memory while the panel is open and is not stored or transmitted.

What we do not collect

Your name, email, location, browsing history, the content of the pages you visit, passwords or payment details. The extension has no analytics or tracking tools.

Sponsored offers

To keep the extension free, it may sometimes open a sponsored page (an advertisement) in a separate tab. A small notice (“Sponsored page opening in 5”) counts down on the page first, and you can cancel it with its Cancel button or the Escape key. That page belongs to an advertiser and, like any website, can see your IP address and browser details and use its own cookies. We do not send advertisers your searches, favorites or browsing history. To pick a relevant offer, the extension reads the title and headings of the pages you visit on your device and works out their topics there; only those topics and a random anonymous ID are sent, never the page’s address, title or text. You can turn it off at any time: open the ⋯ menu in the panel and switch off “Show sponsored offers”.

Permissions, in plain language

Your browser says Why we ask
Access to your tabs (may be listed under “Read your browsing history”) The “tabs” permission. We use it only to read the address of your active tab for the category suggestion above. We do not read your history.
Read and change your data on all websites A small script on web pages, used only for sponsored offers. It reads a page’s title and headings so the extension can work out its topics on your device. The text is never sent, and nothing is read when sponsored offers is off.
Store data on your device To keep your favorites, recent searches and settings.
Show the side panel So the extension can open beside your page.
Access our catalog service To load the catalog of templates.
